Job descriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our Laboratory Team in our Oklahoma City, OK location. The Molecular Laboratory Manager will be responsible for managing, evaluating and supervising the performance of several different Molecular tests, being sure to follow all established protocols and regulations set forth by the lab, along with state and federal guidelines.The schedule for this position will be: Mon-Fri - 9 am-6 pm, occasional Sat 9 am -3 pm (OT, weekendsholidays as needed)Clinical Laboratory ManagerLaboratory OperationsProvide leadership to and manage the day to day operations for the Molecular Laboratory. Responsible for all elements of the clinical molecular laboratory operations, including point of collection, processing and accessioning, testing and reporting.Monitor test results, equipment, and laboratory information systems. Perform, assist and support functions within laboratory as needed.Assure that operational controls are to provide high quality, efficient, cost-effective services; evaluate out-of-control financial, quality, and operational situations and take corrective action; monitor indicators of service, quality, cost, and productivity to ensure standards are met.Develop guidelines and implement plans for improving the processes and workflow of the DepartmentDevelops policies and procedures for orientation, training, competency assessment, and cross-training of laboratory technical staff.Build strong performance-based, collaborative relationships and partnership with peers and leadership fostered by frequent communication and interaction to identify and resolve problemsissues and improve delivery of laboratory services.Develop, implement, and monitor laboratory policies and procedures. Maintain service standards to meet internal and client expectationsInitiate cost containment activities and improved utilization of services. Direct cost analysis activities of existing and prospective test procedures.QualityComplianceOversee regulatory and accreditation requirements to ensure departmental technical, quality, and administrative activities are compliant with all regulatory requirements including, but not limited to CLIA, CAP, OSHA and CMS.Maintain laboratory standards in compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements. Prepare the laboratory for inspections. Oversee the proficiency testing program in Laboratory Services. Develop, review and updates policies and technical procedures for all laboratory sections.Implement an effective quality management system for the Department; establish performancequality metrics for all laboratory sections that reflect best practice benchmarks in Laboratory Medicine.Designevaluate processes to ensure high reliable standard laboratory services across continuum of care.Establish and maintain procedures to assure appropriate and immediate response to and resolution of all issues and complaints; respond as Laboratory Manager to all complaints, errors, accidents or concerns as appropriate.Provide recommendations and initiate decisions on instrument and method selection; assure appropriate validation and implementation of new methods.Develop and implement the preventive maintenance program for all equipment. Assure staff documentation of preventative and corrective maintenance. Ensure full operation of instrumentation, equipment, and systems in all laboratory sections.Monitor occurrenceincident reports and reports findings as appropriate to legal, regulatory, medical staff, accreditation or risk management offices.Review appropriate laboratory records, management reports, quality controlassurance programs on a regular basis with designated management staff and take appropriate action on significant findings or issues.Implement and maintains effective record management and specimen storage systems for the DepartmentMonitor new developments in laboratory medicine and technology for implementation in the Department.Implement and maintain effective charge capture and billing processes for the Department; maintain an accurate record for all departmental services.Staff ManagementDevelop and modify job descriptions and performance standards for laboratory staff and regularly reviewsmonitors the performance of laboratory staff in conjunction with designated management staff.Perform andor delegate human resource management responsibilities for laboratory staff including interviewing and selection of new employees, promotional recommendations, staff professional development, performance evaluations, salary adjustments, resolution of employee concerns, and disciplinary actions including terminations.Develop organizational and staffing plans for the Department to assure adequate staffing levels and productivity.Adhere to the requirements of the HIPAA Privacy Policies and Procedures. Maintain confidentiality of patients, families, and staff.Provide and oversee training and competency as well as teaching, promoting and modeling effective communication for staff.Assume other duties and responsibilities that are related and appropriate to the position and areaMinimum Requirements:Minimum two (2) years of experience in high complexity testing, preferably Molecular testing.Minimum three (3) years of leadership experience in a clinical laboratory setting.Education:Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical or biological science from an accredited institution. Preferred: Master's degree in clinical laboratory science, chemical, physical, biological, business administration, health care administration, public health, or related field from an accredited institution..Additional Requirements:Thorough knowledge of regulatory (state and federal) agency requirements and professional practice standards to include CLIA, CAP, local, state and federal regulations.Thorough knowledge of clinical laboratory operations.Thorough knowledge of principles of supervision, management, personnel management, financial analysis and budgeting.Experience in financial management, program development, quality improvement and project management.Demonstrated customer-focused service skills.Demonstrated supervisory skills.Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve.Demonstrated ability to use good judgment and decision making, responding calmly and effectively in crisis situations.Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict.Demonstrated understanding and support for diversity in the workplace.Highly effective interpersonal skills are required in building programs to support and maintain medical staff, administrative and community relationships.Working knowledge of clinical computer systems, PC computer skills, and Microsoft Office tools.Continued involvement in national, state and local professional organization(s)Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:Dental insuranceHealth insuranceVision insurancePaid Time OffWork Location:One location- Oklahoma City, OK
