We specialize in raising and stocking fish in ponds and lakes throughout WI and IL. We also supply do-it-yourselfers and contractors with the materials and knowledge necessary to maintain aquatic environments. We are known in the fish stocking industry for providing the highest quality fish and customer service. Keystone Hatcheries is a division of Robinson Wholesale, Inc in Genoa City, WI, and together we have been in the fish business for over 75 years!Position DescriptionThis is a full or part-time, on-site position located in Richmond, IL for an Aquatic Biologist at Keystone Hatcheries,LLC. Ideally, we are looking for someone with involvement in Aquaculture, Fisheries and Aquatic Weed & Algae Management, but we understand that most applicants will not have the full complement of experiences. Finding the right person is more important to us than finding perfect qualifications. You will be required to work with other employees on a wide range of constantly changing projects. Excellent communication skills are also a necessity as a significant part of the job will be to listen to customers and help them achieve their goals. We have a great team, and looking to hire someone that would add to it.Primary Responsibilities, depending on qualificationsWork with customers to develop fish stocking plans, in person, on phone and via emailFollow up with current customers to make sure their pond needs are met and build relationships they trustRespond to customer pond questions and ability to use your knowledge to help them reach their goalsCustomer outreach to gain new relationshipsConduct andor oversee fish culture and rearing practicesIdentify aquatic weeds and algae and work with customers to sell products and develop management plansDesignsell aeration systems and provide customers instructions on installationAnything else that needs to be done on the fish farm and retail store. When it is time to move fish everyone gets involved!QualificationsDegree in Biology, Water Resources, Fisheries or related field2+ yrs Experience in an aquatic biologist position a plusMust be well organized, highly motivated, and willing to work with othersProficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. HTML knowledge is a bonus, but not requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a teamAttention to detail and strong organizational skillsExceptional customer service skillsDriver's License with a clean recordFluent in EnglishWilling and able to lift 50lb. plus Willing and able to work in all weather conditions as neededPay is dependent on many factors, experience, knowledge, abilities, performance.
