Ardurra is currently seeking a Designer III to join our Oklahoma City, OK team.Primary FunctionDesigns and develops layouts for engineering projects. Is able to understand engineering concepts and translate them into designing drawings. May be called upon to assist staff and management as a technical specialist and advisor.Primary DutiesResearch, understand, and apply published CADD and Design standards applicable to work assignmentsUse MicroStation to draft, edit and finalize design plans and details using appropriate symbols and drafting standards; Use Geopak, andor OpenRoads to perform design tasks such as grading, surface analysis and creating alignments, profiles, and sectionsAnalyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine best approach to complete drawing setCollect andor assist engineer with collecting field data and applying it to design drawings and exhibitsCoordinate the transfer and integration of data supporting project drafting and design to include survey, geotechnical, engineering detail, as-built, and GIS dataPrepare preliminary and final drawings, plan & profiles, and exhibits from engineering sketches, verbal instructions, specifications and supporting documentation according to current company, client, and project standardsPrepare quantity summaries, hydraulic and utility tables, and right-of-way mapsDevelop graphic presentations, exhibits, drawings, and visualization videos that include distinctive design featuresPrepare and review complete project documents for accuracy, conformity, and quality assurance of format, drafting, and design constructability; Review work done by others for drafting and calculation errorsOrganize and maintain all project related information per the company records retention and filing systemDevelop standards of practice, techniques and improved processes and procedures for drafting and design production, especially related to roadwayhighway CADDCoordinates work with graduate plannersengineers, interns, technicians and administrative staffReceives general direction on key objectivesReceives guidance when necessary on unconventional or complex problems, direction on modified techniques, and new approaches on assignments with conflicting criteriaStrong oral and written communications skillsMust be able to collaborate with other employees, clients, and sub consultantsMust be able to visually observe and differentiate details and colors of objects, recognize sound, tone and pitch; adjust to interruption and changes; work in hot, cold, and noisy work areas; stand, walk and sit for extended periods; climb stairs and ladders; deal with people in tense situations, and lift up to twenty (20) poundsMust have State Driver's License and carry applicable State mandated auto insuranceMust have dependable transportation to attend meetings or to make field visits on a short noticeMust be willing and available to work all shifts, including rotation, weekends and holidaysEducation And Experience RequirementsHas extensive experience using the latest release of MicroStation and other Bentley support products such as Geopak andor OpenRoadsUses additional automated design tools or specialized design procedures in areas including bridgeculvert detailing and designing retaining walls or other typical structuresPossesses a basic understanding of the latest releases of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Skype, Adobe PDF, and Windows File ExplorerIs able to mentor and train engineering interns, drafting, and other design staffMaintains in-depth knowledge of civil engineering basics including sheet organization, topographical data, scales, coordinate systems, site grading and volume calculationsHas the ability to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings from Engineers, Managers, or others on the project team, as well as understand and follow complex verbal and written instructions, and interact effectively to maintain a team environment8+ years of related experience in Civil Engineering environmentHigh School Diploma or GED; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training as outlined above.
