Looking to fill as soon as possible!!"Job Summary If you are an Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) looking for a rewarding opportunity, QSAC is searching for a dedicated NYS Certified Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech Language Disabilities (TSSLD) with NYS Certification of Clinical Competency (CCC) or (CFY) to provide speech and language therapy to assess and treat speech, language, and social communication disorders in children with autism spectrum disorder.This opportunity is located at our Bronx Day school location! We provide extensive support, training and opportunities for growth both professionally and within the agency.The salary range for this position is $68-$80k commensurate with credentialsexperience.ResponsibilitiesProgram Development & AssessmentEnsure that speech and language programs are developed and implemented in accordance with behavioral principles and the individual needs of each student's IEPConduct formal and informal assessments of student's speech, language, and communication skillsWrite IEP goals, objectives and updatesImplement data collection, behavior management interventions and the principles of behavior analyses during individualized therapy sessions in accordance with the IEPMaintain daily attendance of speech sessions and session notesCommunication & TrainingParticipate in ParentTeacher Clinics in order to promote generalization of speech and language skills learned in school. This may entail formal and informal contact with teachers and parents, as well as parent therapy observations, direct parent training, IEP and parent conferences, and home visits when requestedParticipate in staffteam meetings and required staff trainingSupervision of Interns and CF-SLP's if (CCC)Qualifications & Work ExperienceVaccination requiredNYS License and ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or (CFY)NYS Certification as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) or Teacher of Students with Speech Language Disabilities (TSSLD) requiredMA Degree in Speech Language Pathology requiredAt least 6 months experience employing behavior analytic principles with children with ASDKnowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, including Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) highly preferredMissionQSAC is a New York City and Long Island based nonprofit that supports children and adults with autism, together with their families, in achieving greater independence, realizing their future potential, and contributing to their communities in a meaningful way by offering person-centered services.
