At Catapult, we are helping our member, Raleigh Rheumatology Associates hire two Medical Assistants. The position is an onsite role and the successful candidates must be able to commute to the Raleigh, NC office daily for a 4.5-day work week with Fridays being a half day.Pay is UP TO $23 per hour depending on experience! ***Sign on BONUS to total up to $1,000!!! If you are a dedicated Medical Assistant looking to join a dynamic healthcare team, we want to hear from you!Apply now for this exciting opportunity to make a difference in patients' lives!About the Job and the Responsibilities:· Perform basic patient care procedures, such as rooming patients, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and assisting with examinations.· Explains treatment procedures to patients and prepares patients for examinations and procedures.· Educate patients on medication administration, self-care techniques, and preventive measures.· Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections as directed by healthcare providers.· Document patient information, medical history, medical reconciliation, and treatment plans accurately in electronic health records.· Other clinical support responsibilities include disposing of contaminated supplies, calling prescriptions to a pharmacy, preparing and administering medications as directed by a physician, and authorizing drug refills as directed.· Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and coordinating referrals.· Assistance with prior authorizations and appeals to insurance companies for critical therapies required for patients.· Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.· Performs other clinical functions as delegated and supervised by the physician· Performs other administrative duties as directedEducation and Experience:High school or GED graduation requiredPrefer at least one previous year working as a Medical AssistantCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification a plus but not requiredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:· Strong communication, bedside manner, and interpersonal skills to provide excellent patient service.· Knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy· Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced private practice.· Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changes in healthcare practices.· Working knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures applicable to work performed.· Working knowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering routine and special treatments to patients.· Working knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable for work in a clinic setting· Working knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions· Invested in the growth of the practice from the start and desire to show initiative in improving clinic workflow and patient care practices.Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
