To learn more about the company, visit us at: Details Stella Jones is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead the team at our new startup utility pole peeling plant near Enfield, North Carolina (located 17 miles north of Rocky Mount). This ground-up facility is projected to be completed in the first half of 2024 and will augment our pole production capacity in the US and Canada. To learn more about our utility pole products (including a 1 minute video overview), visit our product page: this newly created plant leadership role as Production Supervisor in Enfield, you will embark on a dynamic journey that begins with a comprehensive immersion into Stella-Jones' operations across the United States. Following this foundational training experience, you will play a key role, along with a variety of key collaborators on the Stella-Jones team, in the start-up, hiring, and initiation of the Enfield plant, ensuring its successful launch. Ultimately, your leadership will transition into a traditional plant production leadership role, overseeing all facets of the facility's daily operations, and championing our commitment to safety, environmental responsibility, quality, and efficiency.Phase 1: Initial Introduction & LearningVisit and shadow operations at multiple Stella-Jones peeling and treating plants throughout the United States (primarily in the Southeast).Engage with existing Production Supervisors and Plant Managers to gain insights and best practices.Absorb company culture, values, and operational standards.Attend training sessions and company conference calls tailored to Stella-Jones' processes and methodologies.Phase 2: Pre-startup & LaunchLearn from construction and design teams to become familiar with key company specifications and to gain an understanding of how the plant's construction will impact production.Along with your internal HRRecruiting partners, lead the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring processes to build a capable and dedicated team.Coordinate with HR and training departments to ensure staff are well-prepared for the plant's opening.Collaborate with company team members to help establish protocols, workflows, and schedules in anticipation of the plant's partnership with various company manufacturing leaders, help start the initial plant operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and safe conjunction with company leadership, develop relationships and liaise with logistics, suppliers, and other internal departments to ensure seamless plant integration into the wider Stella-Jones network.Phase 3: Ongoing Operation & SupervisionManage day-to-day plant operations, ensuring production targets are met consistently.Monitor and maintain the highest standards of safety, environmental responsibility, quality, and efficiency.Foster a positive, collaborative, and safe work environment.Oversee inventory, supply chain management, and resource allocation to ensure optimal production.Address challenges, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures as required.Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, staying updated with industry trends and best municate with senior management, reporting on plant performance, and recommending strategic improvements.Establish and optimize relationships with plant neighbors, local authorities, businesses, schools and others to optimize the plant's overall presence in the community.Qualifications Five or more years of work experience in the manufacturing industry required; Ten or more years preferredTwo or more years of Production Supervisor or Manager experience in an industrial manufacturing plant environment required; Five or more years of production supervision experience preferredExperience in the wood products manufacturing industry preferredStart-up plant (or existing plant expansion) experience a plusEmployee BenefitsAs a Stella-Jones team member, you will have access to excellent benefits and incentives including:Comprehensive total benefits package with 3 medical plans to choose fromAnnual bonus program opportunity401(k) savings plan with an excellent Company match (150% on the first 4% deferred)Several company-paid benefits including: Dental and Vision coverage, Life insurance and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) policies, Long-Term Disability CoverageAccess to a robust employee assistance programAbility to purchase Company stockThe security of working for a company designated as an essential workplaceEqual Opportunity EmployerVeteransDisabled
