COMPANY INFO:Genesis Systems, Inc. and related entities are a business group that provides Information Technology Services (software development, support, hosting, etc.), CPA services, and other diverse activities. Operating nationally and internationally, the group has been in existence for over 35 years and continues to expand its operations. POSITION SUMMARY:The Technical WriterTrainer position is to structure, write, and maintain technical documentation of multiple software applications. The documentation includes developing conceptual diagrams, process flows, data models, prototypes, user interface designs, use cases, and screen layouts. The position will also help to prepare training materials (user guides, quick reference guides, online documentation, and web help pages) and provide software training to customers both onsite and at regional locations. The position also involves the review, update, and edit of existing documentation for structural consistency, technical accuracy, clarity, grammar, and spelling to ensure that documentation meets company standards.QUALIFICATIONS:Outstanding technical writing, structuring, editing, and proofreading skillsSuperior communication (oral and written), organization, and administrative skillsMust have solid skills working with various computer programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, RoboHelp, Camtasia, Adobe Acrobat, and PhotoshopAble to author clear, detailed, professional, and visually well-designed technical documentation (help guides, training videos, training materials, etc.)Ability to quickly learn and understand complex analytical software and conceptsKnowledge of facilitation techniques and experience delivering classroom training with strong presentation skillsWillingness to travel as required by projectsAbility to juggle multiple projects on tight timelinesAbility to work with resources across multiple time zonesMust have a current valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check and drug testEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:B.A. B.S. in English, Technical Writing, Computer Science or other related field, or equivalent professional writing and training experience.Experience as a trainer for a software development group is highly desired.3+ years of previous experience a plusBENEFIT INFO:We are proud to offer competitive compensation, a comprehensive benefits package including company-paid health care, dental & vision coverage, 401(k) and life & disability insurance, generous holiday, sick & vacation time off, and a professionally challenging, yet fun office environment.
