Greco meticulously designs, engineers, and manufactures custom glass, picket, and panel railing systems for both renovation and new construction of residential and high-rise structures.The Designer will be responsible for preparing electronic working plans, technical and shop drawings for various railing and architectural projects from preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, specification sheets, and other data. The Designer will review plans and confer with internal stakeholders to meet project specifications, complete documentation packages, and produce drawing sets.This role is hybrid, in office 2-3 days per week, but consideration will be given to qualified candidates within central Florida (greater Tampa and Orlando metro areas), who are able to work remotely and come into the office twice a month. Job Responsibilities:Design and prepare detailed electronic working plans, charts andor scale drawings for railings and architectural projects from observation, measurements, sketches, and specificationsProduce detailed drawings and specifications using dedicated computer software to produce design specifications, including parts lists and cost informationWork closely with both the Project Manager and Production Supervisor to select cost effective materials and construction techniquesCreate custom architectural products from Elevation sketches and incorporate the design drawings into tool palettesMake basic computations to determine layout of charts, strength of materials and requirements for structural designOrganize and maintain a design and digital file database for each projectProvide technical guidance and direction to staff in the interpretation and implementation of specifications and requirements and the procurement and use of design filesPrepare electronic layouts, charts, detailed scale drawings, and material and equipment requirements from sketches, specifications, and standard layouts providedRevise computer-aided designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual constructionInterface with departmental personnel to obtain details of equipment and materials requirementsBrainstorm as part of a team or develop design concepts using computer-aided design, and other traditional design toolsReview plans and writing technical reports to meet project specificationsComplete documentation packages and produce drawing setsEmploy problem-solving strategies and find solutions to product design issuesSuccessfully carry out assignments on project design teamsEssential Skills & Experience:Diploma in architecture, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field required2 years of design experience in miscellaneous metals or similar industryProven analytical skills; the ability to identify customer needs and to effectively communicate with them is requiredAble to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsStrong presentation, oratory, and written skillsDemonstrated ability to finish multiple projects on time and scaleStrong working knowledge of AutoCAD, and advanced experience with Excel and Word.2 years minimum 3D with Revit or full AutoCAD experienceEffective verbal and listening communications skillsAbility to follow through and complete overlapping projectsHigh level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, andor reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or factsExcellent organization and project management skills, including the ability to multitask in a fast-paced product development environmentTime management skills, ability to multi-task, and have excellent organizational skillsAbility to work in a team environment with minimum supervisionCollaborative in dealing with customers and fellow employees, maintaining excellent working relationshipsReceptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstancesGreco, a CSW Industrials company, does not make employment decisions based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, political affiliation, disability, age, genetic information, or veteran status.
