These individuals will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to serve the growing need of the regional pediatric population to deliver world class pediatric heart care. Responsibilities * Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs health assessments, screening, and patient care. * Provides direct treatment and management of conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. * Counsels and educates patients and their familiescaregivers concerning health conditions, treatment options and community resources. * Documents delivery of health care and nursing processes in accordance with specific specialty area standards and network nursing policy. * Participates in orientation and education of staff and students. * Other related functions as assigned Required Qualifications Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing or Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants. Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing or Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Texas Board of Physician Assistants. Experience as an acute care nurse practitioner or Physician Assistant. Master's degree. Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Care Unit. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations. Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
