Clinical Research Nurse (RN)Requisition #:192995 Location:Westminster, MD 21157 Category:Nursing Salary:$40.00 - $55.00 per hour Position Details CLINICAL RESEARCH NURSE (RN) Job Overview: Aveanna Healthcare, the heart of caring for patients in the clinical research organization line of business, is seeking nurses i.e. Registered Nurse andor Licensed PracticalVocational Nurse with at least 6 months nursing experience to work per-diem assignments for clinical research projects and programs. Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) Job Responsibilities: This nurse independently provides nursing care; identifies and communicates the impact of the research process on patient care; adjusts interventions based on findings; and reports issuesvariances promptly to the research team Administers research interventions; collects patient data according to protocol specifications; evaluates the patient response to therapy; and integrates evidence-based practice into nursing practice Contributes to teams, workgroups and the nursing shared governance process. New skills and knowledge are acquired that are based on self-assessment, feedback from peers and supervisors, and changing clinical practice requirements Provides care to acute and complex patient populations and utilizes appropriate professional judgment and critical decision making in planning and providing care The CRN masters all nursing skills and associated technology for clinical trial(s) Collects patient data according to protocol specifications; evaluates the patient' response to therapy; responds to variances in protocol implementation; reports variances to the research team; integrates evidence-based practice into nursing practice; and as applicable, evaluates patient outcomes. Depending on the Statement of Work (SOW), the CRN has the ability to take human samples I.e. blood, urine, nasal, nasopharyngeal, other. As applicable, and per the Statement of Work (SOW), the CRN specializes in the administration of medications and fluids through an intravenous (IV) line, central line, or venous access port. Starting lines and maintaining IV access. Proper biohazardous waste utilization, transport and disposal. Maintains appropriate infection control standards and precautions Proper utilization of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Minimum Requirements: Active and in good standing nursing license i.e. Registered nurse, Licensed practical nurse, Licensed vocational nurse with a minimum of 6 months clinical experience Meets professional nursing standards and pertinent local, state, and federal requirements Strong therapeutic communication Skills Preferred administrative data entry work experience, but not required Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Flexibility and timeliness in completing assigned tasks Physical Requirements: Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English Must be able to travel up to 30 miles, 10% of the time Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must complete with OSHA's Respiratory Protection Program i.e. N-95 respirator, face shieldsgoggles, gloves, gowns and if applicable, show coverings Must be able to sufficiently move equipment without assistance Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting Must be able to sit and climb stairs Must have visual and hearing acuity Environment: Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
