In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization's vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.What you will do in this role:Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patientMeeting the Standards of Practice for the Emergency Department (ED) and managing all assigned personnel, supplies and equipmentParticipate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient careRoutinely provides triage assessment for patients presenting for treatmentRoutinely performs venipunctures for obtaining specimens for lab testsRoutinely provides intervention in emergency, life-threatening situationsAssumes the responsibility of charging the department, as neededWhat qualifications you will need: Current Texas Licensure with State Board of Nurse ExaminersAssociates Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferredAmerican Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BLCLS) and CertificationAmerican Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification within 6 months of hireAmerican Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course (PALS) and Certification within 6 months of hireOne year experience in Emergency Services (ED) (ER) (FSED)HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest is a 415+ bed acute care hospital that has been serving the north Houston communities for more than 40 years, providing a wide range of medical services including cardiology, maternity care, Level III NICU, pediatrics, bariatrics and neurology.
