Job Summary The RN in the Med/Surgical/Pediatrics Department will be knowledgeable in the care of the following age groups and maintain RN clinical competency in these groups:  Infant, Child, Adolescent, Adult, Sr. Adult, and Geriatric. All nursing care functions/responsibilities are based on the ANA standards.  Responsible for the compliance of Physician/Provider orders. Adheres to the Nursing Code of Ethics, Avera's Mission and Avera's Service Excellence Standards. Education and/or Experience Graduate of Registered Nursing Education program. 3 years of experience required. Licensure/Certification/Registration Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of South Dakota Basic Life Support (BLS) is required upon hire and must be maintained. ACLS is recommended. PALS is highly recommended. Attends all mandatory hospital and departmental meetings and in-services. Participates in educational opportunities and updates/maintains current professional clinical competency related to areas of responsibilities.   Work Schedule Hours: Position requires 72 hours worked in a six-week schedule equating to 624 hours annually, not exceeding 1248 hours in a 12 month period.
