Unlock your potential!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Respiratory Therapist III demonstrates the advanced knowledge and skill necessary to direct care appropriate to the patients in his/her department. The RCP III demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan, assesses the patient's status, and interprets the information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs in the critical care area. The RCP III provides care as needed and as described in the department's policies and procedures for critical care. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, respiratory therapyYou will administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapyYou will assist with placement of artificial airways You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilationYou will monitor patient for therapeutic response. You will notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended responseYou will assist with transportation of ventilator-dependent patientsYou will respond to emergent patient situations and ensure airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as requiredYou will assess, plan, directs, and implement necessary activities to treat patients successfullyYou will work in an intensive care setting What qualifications you will need:Graduate of an Accredited Respiratory ProgramLicensed by the Nevada State Board of Medical ExaminersNevada State license to perform arterial blood gasesRegistered by the National Board of Respiratory Care and the Neonatal Pediatric Specialty (NPS) credentialCurrent BLS requiredCurrent ACLS requiredCurrent PALS requiredCurrent NRP requiredRequires one year's experience in an acute care facility or freestanding practice with must have current/recent acute care Respiratory Therapist experience within the last six monthsRequires Critical Care and Ventilator Management experience in Adult and Pediatric/Neonatal settingPrefer experience with ABGs, EKGs, ICU, preceptor experience, venous puncture, and line maintenance Southern Hills Hospital is a 260+ bed acute care hospital.
