Experience: • 12 months of role experience is required. • 24 months of Intensive Care Unit experience is preferred. • 3 months of travel experience is required. • Experience with Epic is required. Requirements: • Candidates must have a South Dakota license or compact license prior to placement start. • This role will require floating to multiple units • Candidates must live at least 100 miles away from this facility in order to be eligible to apply for this role. • COVID vaccination required for onboarding. Guaranteed Hour: 48 2 years of ICU experience EXCLUDING travel experience is most preferred Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Patient Types: Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma - heavy trauma population Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR - 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this - given to permanent staff Required Education: Completion of a nursing education program that is approved by a board of nursing; Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing Skills required: Experience with the above-mentioned patients If traveler has experience outside of this specialty - please include this is your offer details ICU RN qualified to float to ED Experience with IV medications (vasopressors, sedation, paralytics), hemodynamic lines, proning, ventilator management, telemetry, strong critical thinking and assessment skills, working well in team setting, comfortable in fast pace setting with all critical patients. Impella, IABP and CRRT - strongly preferred Floating: If yes, where? Not common unless overstaffed. Could float to any adult floor - including Medsurg/Tele with 1:4 ratio. Confirm traveler comfortability during interview Scheduling: Weekend rotation: Every other Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule? No Holiday Expectations: No RTO during holidays Approval of time off? Up to 7 days - must extend to accommodate a full 13-week contract.
