Job Summary The Athletic Trainer is accountable for providing care, treatment, and assessment of athletic injuries for individuals adolescent to geriatric. Provides patients, clients, and athletes with individual programs tailored to the needs, wants, and desires of each individual; based on their health history, test results, and fitness goals. Demonstrate knowledge of principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status.  Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.  Work with Manager of Integrated Therapy Services in planning, evaluating, and integrating new programs within the Avera Human Performance Center.  Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree is required. 0-6 months of experience is required. 1-2 years of experience is preferred. Licensure/Certification/Registration BOC National Athletic Training Certification is required. South Dakota Athletic Trainer License issued by the SD Board of Medical & Osteopathic Examiners is required. BLS (Basic Life Support) is required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) is preferred.
