Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Paralegal - Development. In this role, the successful candidate is responsible for supporting the Office of General Counsels work on a variety of legal matters, including but not limited to development/estates, governance, trustee and officer conflicts of interest processes, government filings, real estate, contracting, subpoenas and litigation, and other areas as requested by the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel. Job Responsibilities: Prepare and/or review gift agreements and contracts based on templates; Assist with trust and estate matters, including Surrogate Court filings; Assist in the creation, review, and maintenance of conflict of interest disclosure forms for trustees and executive leadership; gather information related to potential conflicts as needed; assist with the preparation of memoranda for Board committee and leadership; Organize, update, and maintain records related to trustee and executive leadership conflicts of interest; Organize, update, and maintain governance records for NYU Langone legal entities, including organizational documents, board resolutions, government registrations and filings; Create and maintain resources related to the boards and board committees of NYU Langone legal entities, including board and board committee logistics; Prepare, coordinate, and assist with completing various government filings, including NYC Passport and NYS Vendrep, as needed; Support the users of the document management system for the Office of General Counsel and Compliance; Maintain and provide content for the Office of Legal Counsel website and policies page; Assist with responses to subpoenas; Support counsel responsible for real estate matters; Use reference materials and perform basic legal research using a variety of resources; Support and manage various projects within the Office of General Counsel as they arise. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a Bachelors Degree or Associates Degree with paralegal training Minimum 5 to 7 years experience as a paralegal (or equivalent position) in a law firm or in-house legal department Effective oral and written communication skills Ability to work collegially Demonstrated analytical and organizational skills Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the iManage document management system. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
