Job Description:
Our Controls Specialist position will help the division with PLC controls, networking issues, or questions. It is the expectation that self-motivated individuals will advance into progressively skilled positions.
What you will do: Understand efficient and profitable process-control operation for manufacturing operations
Lead process-control projects with supervising mill personnel and outside contractors during installation of process-control equipment
Monitor new process-control systems to maximize productivity, safety, and profitability
Manage mill maintenance and production during servicing of process-control equipment
Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications
Responsible for recommendations to improves safety though upgrading targeted equipment
Develop process improvements at mill for efficiency, cost reduction, and overall production increase at the manufacturing operations through the optimization and upgrading of production process-controls systems
Locate and diagnose trouble in electrical system or equipment
Monitor the maintenance of installed process-control equipment to increase reliability
Special projects and other duties assigned What you need to be successful: Previous industrial experience
Familiar with Allen Bradley products: Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC and Associated software, VFDs, RSView/Panelview software
Experience with PLC5 and Control Logix PLC platforms
Experience with Mitsubishi VFDs, Wonderware HMI software
Familiarity with Porter Optimization and Controls System, USNR Optimization and Controls System, and Comact Optimization and Controls System
Familiarity with MFPA 70E Codes and National Electric Codes
Experience with communication network protocols; ethernet, Devicenet, Controlnet
Proficient in computer and Microsoft Office software packages
Experience working with high and low voltage
Understanding of and experience with electrical schematics What will make you stand out: Must be willing to perform all job assignments in an effective and timely manner, with minimal supervision
Ability to work outside normal hours as tasks dictate
