Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and have a clean driving record.Class A Truck Driver Duties and Responsibilitiesï‚· Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicleï‚· Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.ï‚· Pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs.ï‚· Ensure trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to the tractor unitï‚· Transport goods, livestock, etc. from the place of origin to assigned destinationï‚· Pick-up loads and organizes goods in an ordered, logical mannerï‚· Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damageï‚· Safely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinationsï‚· Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clientsï‚· Assist in mapping delivery routesï‚· Stay on a predetermined route and ensure timely deliveriesï‚· Communicate with dispatch as neededï‚· Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest documentï‚· Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each tripï‚· Check weather conditions and road reports before departureï‚· Always ensure your vehicle is kept cleanï‚· Maintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure,repairs, etc.)ï‚· Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encounteredï‚· Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate timesï‚· Maintain detailed driving and delivery logsï‚· Track and report working hoursï‚· Adhere to company rules and regulationsï‚· Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditionsï‚· Comply with ICC and DOT regulationsï‚· Make safety a priority at all timesClass A Truck Driver Requirements and Qualificationsï‚· High school diploma or GED equivalent preferredï‚· Valid Class A driver's license requiredï‚· 2+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer driving preferredï‚· Clean driving record with no moving violationsï‚· Must pass a background check and drug testï‚· Skilled at driving large vehiclesï‚· Comfortable maneuvering and parking a tractor-trailerï‚· Alert, focused, and detail-orientedï‚· Physically and mentally fitï‚· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a timeï‚· Able to operate an electric lift, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.ï‚· Proficient using GPS and other routing systemsï‚· An innate sense of directionï‚· Disciplined, dependable, and resourcefulï‚· High level of composure and good stress management
