Position Title: Part-Time Behavioral Health / Substance Use ConsultantReports To: 211 State Program DirectorUnited Way of Wisconsin (UWWi) is the statewide organization providing member support services to the thirty nine local and independent United Ways in Wisconsin and eight 211 Contact Centers.UWWi supports the capacity development of local United Ways in Wisconsin, individually and working together, so that they can build strong communities by mobilizing our public, private and non-profit sectors through research, civic engagement, public policy advocacy, and results-based funding.UWWi leads statewide efforts to support the health, education, and financial stability of all people in Wisconsin. Our work is centered on improving the common good so that all people thrive in Wisconsin.PURPOSE OF POSITION:The purpose of this part time consultant position is to help support our 211 Information & Referral Specialists as they support the WI Addiction Recovery Helpline. The Behavioral Health / Substance Use Consultant will provide group training on how to work through challenging calls. The Behavioral Health / Substance Use Consultant will also provide one on one coaching to support Information & Referral Specialists. We are looking for a consultant that can spend up to 10 hours per month supporting our team.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1). Primary responsibilityProvide group training on how to support callers in challenging situations around substance use while also safeguarding your own mental health and wellbeing.Provide tools that can be used and deployed during high stress situations, to help promote the wellbeing of 211 callers and call specialists.2). Primary responsibilityProvide one on one coaching, or small group support to help call specialists talk though challenging substance use calls.Provide one on one coaching and recommendations about tools and coping mechanisms that 211 Information & Referral Specialists can use for self-care and managing stressful and challenging calls.QUALIFICATIONS:Master's Degree in Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Substance Use / Addiction Counseling, or related field from an accredited program. Experience working with people from diverse ethnic, cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and trauma history preferred.Experience supporting people with substance use concerns or supporting staff who directly support people with substance use concerns.Experience providing coaching in one on one and group settings.Preferred: Have a current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Professional Counselor (LPC) or Psychologist from the State of Wisconsin.REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:We are looking for candidates that demonstrate the following competencies:Communication- Speaks clearly; writes effectively and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens to executives, co-workers, employees, and outside advisors and shares information and ideas effectively and efficiently; demonstrates effective group presentation and meeting skills. Ability to Manage Time and Projects Effectively- The ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments; prioritizes more important tasks while maintaining a good handle on others; ability to meet deadlines consistently, and reports in a timely manner any barriers to task completion leaving chances for supervisor to adjust deadlines. Results-Oriented Thinking and Behavior- A genuine concern for effectiveness.
