Job PurposeAbout this Position:Corporate Affairs is at the forefront of managing critical relationships with key stakeholders, including engagement with policymakers, community leaders, non-profits, workforce partners, and DEI collaborators. It is responsible for implementing government relations strategies and leading corporate communications to increase internal awareness of Honda's business direction and enhance Honda's reputation. This role is responsible for managing the Regional Corporate Affairs Department. The position will lead a team of regional/local corporate affairs, community relations, and engagement specialists. This role will play a pivotal role in managing relationships with local community stakeholders, Honda local site leaders, ensuring effective communication within our local sites and representing Honda at the local level. This leader will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our local initiatives align seamlessly with our national corporate affairs strategy. This role will serve as a key conduit that bridges local execution and broader organizational goals.Key AccountabilitiesResponsibilities include:•    External Relationship Management o    Lead, cultivate, and strengthen positive relationships and strategic partnerships with Hondas stakeholders, such as community leaders, community organizations, civic organizations, etc.o    Representing Hondas interests and values in various local events, initiatives, and collaborations •    Internal Stakeholder Engagement o    Engage with other departments and teams within Corporate Affairs (CSR, I&D, and GIR) to align local engagement with broader corporate affairs strategyo    Collaborate with NACC to ensure local communication needs are met and communications strategies and messaging is alignedo    Collaborate with local site leaders across USA to understand the needs and opportunities of their communitieso    Communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization and external partnerso    Partner with Marketing and legal on developing, reviewing and deciding on local brand visibility across the USA.•    Strategy, Reporting, and Evaluationo    Execute national corporate affairs strategy at local level - tailor as neededo    Evaluate the effectiveness of local engagement and report on the outcomes and feedbacko    Identify and implement strategic local investments that enhance brand visibility and engagemento    -Serve as subject matter expert and decision maker on funding proposals from external organizations through corporate and foundation funding areas •    Associate Community Engagemento    Collaborate with CSR and local site leaders to developing and implement strategies to increase associate engagement within the local communityo    Evaluate and report on the impact and outcomes of associate engagement programs and initiatives•    Department Leadershipo    Manage and oversee all Department matters, including functions and staff, budget, data reporting and metrics, working closely with the Corporate Affairs BULs, providing strategic vision, guidance, and supportQualifications, Experience, and SkillsRequired Work Experience:•    10 - 15 years of experience in Corporate Affairs, Community Relations or CSR•    Leadership experience strongly preferred  •    Ability to represent Honda in professional manner and strong public speaking skills•    Excellent organizational and project planning skills with attention to detail•    Strong collaboration skills•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills•    Proficient with Microsoft Office SuiteRequired Education:•    Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience and/or educationDesired Skills:•    Basic understanding of government relations•    OEM  or other auto industry experienceWorking ConditionsAdditional Position Factors:•    Open-office environment•    Ability to travel up to 30% domestically •    Hybrid remote work available•    Weekend and evening work as needed to meet deliverablesAt Honda, you will play a key role in our journey to become a company that society wants to exist now, and in the future.
