Sign-On Bonus: n/a Description:Camp Red Cedar boasts 57 acres of woods, meadows, trails, a 10-acre lake and sandy beach.  Each year the camp serves hundreds of children and adults through inclusive summer camps, recreational therapy and riding programs, and community events.Join us on the next summer adventure at Camp Red Cedar!  Seeking outgoing individuals for the Summer Camp Counselor position! ENJOY A SUMMER FILLED WITH SAND, OUTDOOR FUN, and LEARNING!Seasonal Full-time Schedule: May 20th - August 16th, weekdaysPay: $400/weekWhat lies in store for you at Camp Red Cedar:Approximately 500 campers40 staff members13 horses2 minis1 kitty catNumerous camp songsCounselors must ensure the safety of the campers in program activities offered to enrich lives and promote safe, integrated fun at Camp Red Cedar. Plan and implement recreational, camping activities for campers. Applicant must possess an open heart, a curious mind, and an inability to tell the difference between your own skin, your constant dirt tan, and the paint + glitter permanently embedded on your body. A wacky playfulness and an inspirational spirit are needed. Applicants must be willing to foster beauty, wonder, awe, and unforgettable friendships with campers of all abilities.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, lead, and supervise campers with outdoor and indoor recreational activities.Work actively with other staff, supervisor and volunteers to facilitate a safe and fun camping experience.Assist with daily living skills as necessary i.e. toileting, showering, etc.Understand and train on clients' CBT and BSP prior to starting services.Assist campers with all activities, personal care needs and at meal times, including two weeks of overnight camp.Follow daily schedules and adapt to camper needs for each week of camp.Schedules may vary depending on programs offered each week.Execute basic water rescue skills as needed.Execute basic horse and riding teract with the campers with dignity and teract with the parents on a daily basis, keeping them informed about their child's time spent at Camp Red Cedar, and submit daily participation documentation.Regular cleaning of all areas of the facility that are used by the camp program, including the restrooms, waterfront, cabins and barn.Attend and set up for Showdeo.OTHER DUTIESTeach by example the "4 R's" which are: respect yourself, respect the campers, respect the counselors, and respect the facility.Be aware of and submit reportable incidents within required timeframes to supervisor including: accidentsany suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitationBe familiar with all emergency procedures and participate in monthly ply with all safety standards and policies adopted by this agency to assure the health and safety of all staff and clients we serve.Report any behavior incidents to your supervisor through written and verbal communication.Be a good example for all campers.Good attendance while employed with Camp Red Cedar.Maintain proper storage of supplies.
