Job Title: Electrical EngineerLocation: Pittsburgh, PADuration: Contract-to-Direct Hire, Long-term (Hybrid Work Schedule) Pay range: $35-$50/hrDOEHybrid/Remote flexibility Up to 25% site travelJob Responsibilities:Provide electrical engineering support (power distribution, power transmission, instrumentation, and equipment controls) for Mining and Oil & Gas facilities and their Asset Management Groups.Focus on designing and improving electrical power and control systems for the client plan and specify equipment specific to the mining and oil & gas industry.Engineering, designing and technical work to support small to large heavy industrial projects.This includes researching, developing, and supporting the designs of a variety of EI&C equipment, facilities, components, and systems for industrial purposes.Ensure that the technical content of all engineering and design deliverables meet quality expectations.Project delivery: includes all project phases from conceptualization through design, including support of fabrication, support installation and commissioning activities.Works under minimal supervision, work is reviewed for adequacy on quality and completion.Applies principles of safety standards in design, engineering, and construction support.Job Requirements:BS in Engineering required with approximately 5-15 years experience.PE License is a plus.Experience working in heavy industrial environments requiredStrong technical knowledge of Power Distribution, Electrical Rooms, MCCs, VFDs, Generation, Transmission, and heavy industrial power systems from low to high voltage.Technical knowledge Instrumentation & Controls based on automatic process control system like PLC and DCS.Ability to establish the computer-based instrument list and I/O schematics.Experience with P&IDs, PFDs, and specifying EI&C equipment required.Technical knowledge of loops, interconnections, cable/cable conduit schedules, load lists, and electrical plans.Ability to read/interpret specifications and construction drawings.Experience in brown field and green field type work.Experience with AutoCAD is required.Experience with industrial codes and generally accepted governing EI&C codes and standards.Experience with MSHA/OSHA safety regulations preferred.Experience with business development and commercial proposal writing.Proficiency with MS Office applications are required.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and driven to develop strong client relationship is required.Candidate must be comfortable being client-facing and maintains effective communication with project team members and with the customer.Be a part of the ConsultNet differenceAs a leading national provider of Engineering and IT staffing and solutions, ConsultNet delivers exceptional services to startup, midmarket and Fortune 1000 companies across North AmericaSince 1996, weve partnered with clients to create rewarding opportunities for our consultants, successfully building teams that have surefire resultsIn the past two years alone, we have placed more than 1,500 consultants in contract, contract-to-hire, or direct placement opportunitiesWe understand communication is key to finding the right job that matches your skills and career goalsFor us, its not just the work that we do; its how we do the workOur breadth of offerings extends to multiple IT positions in major markets throughout the country, see more at -
