Here at BVS, we strive to provide quality care to our clients and patients, and they quickly become like family.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Veterinarian at Bluegrass Veterinary Services located in Beaver Dam, KY. The successful candidate will be responsible for examining, diagnosing, and treating animals using appropriate medical techniques and knowledge while maintaining detailed medical records for each patient. They will also be responsible for providing advice and guidance to clients and support staff, and ensuring that medical equipment and facilities are in proper working order. BVS is predominantly a small animal practice, but we are open to mixed animal practitioner applicants.QualificationsDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited college or universityCurrent Kentucky Veterinary Medical License or ability to obtain oneStrong knowledge of animal behavior, medical science, pharmacology, and surgical proceduresAbility to handle animals with compassion and care, and communicate effectively with clients and team membersExcellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills, and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team with a positive attitude and strong work ethicWillingness to work weekends and evenings as neededGood physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 poundsExperience in a clinical environment is preferred
