Acts as a change agent, leader and role model for the nursing profession with the goal of having nurses work at the top of their licenses. Provides guidance and develops action plans to Improve and where necessary address patient care issues.Ensures successful execution of Gotham's Health strategic planAREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:Finance and Budget: Assist in developing operating budget for salary and supply areas. Monitors variance activity on a monthly basis. Consistently reviews department budget and implement cost containment strategies as needed.As part of the regional senior leadership team responsible for the designated sites productivity including monitoring & optimizing provider scheduling templates.Patient Relations: Work with departmental leadership to develop strategies to enhance the patient experience. Monitor patient complaints in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Patient Relations to identify trends and plans of correction.Leadership: Develops a solid relationship with all aspects of Gotham Health Leadership and helps assist, implement, delivery (and measures) the strategic plan at all community health sites.Strategic Planning: Transform delivery of clinical care Develop and implement services and program strategies that provide an exceptional patient-centered experience by developing a seamless care delivery system and innovative care models to improve quality outcomes, reduce unnecessary clinical variation and improve coordination across the continuum.SUMMARY:Provide program or functional leadership, communication and coordination to support Gotham and NYCHHC goals and strategic priorities.Regional lead for creative and innovative paths forward in the front lines of nursing and patient care.Accept full responsibility for his/her actionsConducts and presents self in professional manner.Demonstrates a willingness to look at new ideas and work in a changing environment.Understands, verbalizes, and participates in the quality improvement process.Monitors, supervises, and submits all mandatory state reporting to the DOH by mandatory deadlines.Supervises, contributes, and participates in all mandatory and time sensitive sites specific RCA.Supports initiatives designed to improve individual and organizational performance.Overseeing (and where necessary delegates) the maintenance of all clinical equipment.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Travel to different sites when requiredAssess and architect the new culture by articulating the desired mindsets and behaviors that must be in place for Gotham's Health Nursing transformation to be fully realized.Develop and execute a plan that will drive change and allow stakeholders to understand, embrace, and institutionalize the desired new mindsets and behaviors.Uses evidence-based patient safety methodology to support, develop and implement initiatives across the health system.Capability to understand and analyze complex issues, drawing on the breadth of data that needs to inform system wide deliberations and decision-making, and the wisdom to ensure that it is used ethically to balance competing priorities and make difficult decisions.Responsible for influencing organizational culture, and key processes in alignment with corporate strategy and healthcare marketplace dynamics (e.g. shift towards value-based care payment models).Develop high-impact, innovative, evidence-based solutions designed to improve quality of care and control costResponsible for leading and participating in improvement efforts to ensure excellence and greater quality of care across all Gotham settingsLead initiatives designed to achieve the triple aim of an improved patient experience of care (including quality and satisfaction, improved outcomes and/or health of populations, and a reduction in the per capita cost of healthcare.Responsible for tracking outcomes as a measure of effectivenessProvide highly visible, senior, and authoritative individual leadership to support and promote Patient Safety and Gotham Health's strategic goals.Ensuring the development, implementation, and enforcement of all policies and procedures, including patient rights in an outpatient primary care clinical setting.Planning for, and administration of, the managerial, operational, and reporting components of a primary care.Participating in the quality assurance program for participant care and staff performance. Develops and directs continuous quality improvement programs which achieve targeted patient quality of care outcomes.Take responsibility to comply with applicable laws and regulations.Ensuring the provision of staff orientation, staff education, and ongoing staff training in accordance with state regulations.Ensuring all health care workers are protected from biological hazards consistent with state federal and CDC Guidelines.Ensuring an OSHA/Infection Control program, records of work injuries, and employee health records are maintained and managed appropriately.Ensures all clinical personnel practice infection control and standard precautions maintain compliance with all safety regulations.Actively participates in planning and designing policies and procedures in collaboration with appropriate staff members.Identifies work related improvement opportunities and analyzes them to identify causes/find solutions that improve teamwork and patient satisfaction.Acts decisively to implement solutions to resolve critical issues or improve processes.Communicates clear understanding of job responsibilities, task objectives, deadlines and performance expectations.Leads to address, remove variation and fragmentation that may exist and strive to standardize through the adoption of best practice and the creation of a framework that acts as a vehicle to provide consistent services at the highest quality and implemented Gotham wideShares up-to-date information on facility activities and policy changes in a timely manner.Listens attentively to others. Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State; and,2. A Masters Degree in Nursing Administration or an equivalent field, and a minimum of four years of high-level responsible experience in nursing administration, three years of which shall have been in a hospital; or,3. A satisfactory equivalent. However, all candidates must be licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Nurse in New York State.Department PreferencesQUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB:Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York StateExcellent communication skills, both oral and written.CERTIFICATION(S)/LICENSE(S):Current certification in Ambulatory Care Nursing, preferred.EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, Master's Degree of Nursing or related field required.YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:Minimum five (5) years of senior management experience.Experience managing complex Ambulatory care settingExperience with managing multiple Ambulatory sites.Experience leading and managing in a complex union or management environment.KNOWLEDGEABLE IN:A clinician (qualified to provide patient care in his/her field of practice.)A thorough understanding of the broad social, political and economic trends influencing the health and social care agenda.Capability to understand and analyze complex issues, drawing on the breadth of data that needs to inform system wide deliberations and decision-making, and the wisdom to ensure that it is used ethically to balance competing priorities and make difficult decisions.
