Buyer North Hollywood, CA 6-month contract + Pay Rate $31.58-$40/HR. The Buyer uses expertise in performing a variety of purchasing activities including pricing, negotiating terms, volume discounts, long-term contracts and delivery of goods/services with suppliersApplies government laws and regulations while conducting procurement activities and ensures alignment with management objectivesEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Describe the major duties of the jobList the Essential Duties and Responsibilities in order of most time spent to leastTo the right under the % column, include the % for each item or group of items that are to total 100%) Job Duty % Review MRP (SAP) order action messages, maintain schedule and visibility, identify, and resolve issues until shipmentGenerate work orders and issue purchase orders based on MRP (SAP) messagesNegotiate prices and deliveries that are consistent with schedule needs. Process changes, rescheduled, and outside processing that are required to accomplish the production schedule goals. Ensure customer satisfaction by achieving on time deliveries of quality productsFollow through special requests and expeditesIdentify potential late deliveries and plan recoveryPrioritize material handling from receipt to shipment based on schedule requirements and department workload. Required ***** 5+ years of experience in the production control field, including material/inventory management in a defense or aerospace environment. (Required): Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience. Requires excellent planning, organizational and motivational skills. Knowledge of MRP (SAP) system is a must. General knowledge of machine shop practices and processing standards helpful. Knowledge of military spares standards helpful. Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Computerized MRP system. Requires strong interpersonal communications (written and verbal) with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others. Have the ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks on a timely basis.
