POSITION SUMMARYThe High-Risk Training (HRT) Instructor provides instructional services to meet the Coast Guard's unique needs in support of high-risk training activities. The instructor will provide expert skills and knowledge to deliver instruction to USCG students, focusing on ensuring students achieve the necessary skills mandated by the course curricula and course objectives. Instructors are required to evaluate students' performance by verifying the students understanding of the course material, competency of learned skills, and the students ability to demonstrate applied knowledge.RESPONSIBILITIESThe instructor will provide expert skills and knowledge to deliver instruction to USCG students, focusing on ensuring students achieve the necessary skills mandated by the course curricula and course objectives. Instructors are required to evaluate students' performance by verifying the students understanding of the course material, competency of learned skills, and the students ability to demonstrate applied knowledge.The High-Risk Training (HRT) Instructor shall maintain awareness of appropriate Coast Guard and Navy references, subject matter doctrine, curricula for training courses, and instructor training guides.Ensure Emergency Action Plans are developed, that they comply with local training regulations and procedures (e.g., Camp Lejeune range and underwater egress training program), are updated monthly, walked-through quarterly, and exercised at least annually, for all USCG High-Risk Training courses.Coordinate with USCG and inspect High-Risk Training equipment and facilities following all mishaps, near misses, equipment modifications, and at a higher frequency than the annual requirement.Assess compliance with approved training procedures, safety precautions, and emergency procedures.Document results and report to the Training Officer, with observations and recommendations.Ensure all training mishaps are logged and reported appropriately.QUALIFICATIONSTwo (2) years' experience as a primary classroom instructor.Must be capable of executing HRT safety policy and procedures as outlined in Volume 14 of the Coast Guard Training System SOP the NASTP SOP and JQR Manuals.Capable of standing and instructing for 6-8 hours per day.Must possess and maintain qualifications in CPR and Basic First Aid.Prior experience with any of the following is desired, but not required:- Aviation flight operations.- Boat operations.- Instructional delivery of Red Cross or American Heart Association First Aid, CPR, and Automatic External Defibrillator courses.BENEFITSConstellis offers a comprehensive, total rewards package that includes competitive compensation and a flexible benefits package that reflect its commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.Medical, Vision & Dental InsurancePaid Time-Off Program & Company Paid Holidays401(k) Retirement PlanInsurance: Basic Life & Supplemental LifeHealth & Dependent Care Flexible Spending AccountsShort-Term & Long-Term DisabilityPersonal Development & Learning OpportunitiesOn-the-job Training, Skills Development & CertificationsEmployee Referral ProgramCorporate Sponsored Events & Community OutreachWORKING CONDITIONSClassroom conditions will be comparable to a typical office setting with work hours of 0700-1900 based on the training schedule, with a typical 8-hour workday. Field/Range conditions requires wearing PPE, working outside in weather during all four seasons, with prolonged periods of standing and moving while delivering training. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust pass a standard physical examination that includes, medical history, height, weight, blood pressure, and meet required fitness standards throughout employment under the contract. Must pass pre-employment drug testing and remain drug free for the duration of the contract. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. of equipment or stock inventory and stand for period of up to 8 hours per day.
