Position Type Position Type Management Department Department Student Services Division (242) City City Alameda State State CA Job Description Summary Reporting to the Vice President of Student Services, the College Director of Financial Aid Services performs professional supervisory work involved in strategic planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of financial aid and related programs, services and staffing for a community college.Under direction, the employee is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive program of student financial aid services, and for assessing their effectiveness relative to the student population. Public contact is extensive and includes students, staff, other educational institutions, funding and governmental agencies, and the general public for the purpose of exchanging information related to College and District policies and related procedures. A high degree of independent judgment and creativity is required to interpret and adapt required regulations to District policies and procedures, and to develop, implement and evaluate a variety of student programs. The College Director of Financial Aid Services supervises and directs the work of staff at various levels, student assistants and volunteers as assigned. One (1) year of experience training, directing, supervising, andevaluating the work of others.4. Experience with the implementation and evaluation of detailedregulations.5. Experience compiling statistical, financial, and other data andpreparing a variety of reports.6. Knowledge and proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and useof personal computers utilizing various software applications (i.e.,work processing, spreadsheet and database managementsoftware)7. Applicant must have demonstrated cultural competency,sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic,socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds ofcommunity college staff, faculty, and students.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities1.
