JOB DESCRIPTION Job Summary Reports to and supports Human Resources Manager by administering employee benefits and providing advice and service to team facilitators, supervisors and managers. Assists in recruiting, screening, interviewing and performing background checks and referring qualified hourly and salaried applicants to appropriate management personnel to maintain a quality work force geared to our progressive employment philosophy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities + Completes tasks, in compliance with ODS, BOS, IATF-16949, ISO-14001 Standards and Customer Specific Requirements + Ensure that employees are aware of Human Resources policies and benefits programs on a continuing basis. Administers on a daily basis the benefits program including employee inquiries, problem resolution and data compilation. + Responsible for advising management on Human Resources needs and issues within the facility. + Assist in recruiting, screening, interviewing and performing background checks and referring qualified hourly and salaried applicants to appropriate management to maintain a quality workforce geared to our progressive employment philosophy. + Assist the Human Resources Manager in planning, organizing, and presenting new employee orientation programs designed to project the plant's positive employment philosophy. + Assist in orientation of new hourly and salaried employees to the Plant policies, procedures, regulations and fringe benefits including medical insurance to ensure they understand conditions and benefits of employment. + Team with the HR Manager to promote employee involvement throughout the Plant. + Assist in developing and writing policies and procedures affecting both hourly and salaried employees, i.e. Employee Handbook, pending approval of the HR Manager. + Assist the Human Resources Department in updating personnel databases, in compliance with federal, state and local laws; in the compliance and maintenance of accurate services records for active employees and in the maintaining of records for inactive employees; and in the compilation and maintenance of appropriate affirmative action reports and all other reports as required. + Assist in making job offers to all salary and hourly candidates. + Monitor employee personnel transactions such as layoffs, recalls, permanent transfers, etc. to ensure all such transactions are in accordance with company policies and procedures. + Monitor employee activities related to plant welfare such as special events, employee outings, etc. + Assist the Human Resources Manager in developing and preparing the Human Resources budget to be submitted for approval. Operate within adapted budget with exceptions being approved by Management. + Coordinate the FMLA or other leaves for all employees; serves as the Absence Partner for the facility. + Coordinate all monthly reports for the Human Resources Department. + Assist in EEO1/Vets 100 reporting. + Assist in AAP compliance. + Assist in EEOC compliance. + Assist in Immigration Compliance. + Assist in the Investigation and Discharge Process. + Ensure PEER Review Process is kept current. + Coordinate necessary training for all employees. + Has the responsibility and authority to stop production in the event of a quality or safety issue. + Administers Attendance Policy by producing reports for attendance counseling and maintaining accurate records of attendance issues. + Assist in coordinating with Managers and Supervisors to ensure the effective implementation of Human Resources Department's policies. + Assists with workers compensation programs as needed; i.e. schedule appoints, follow up with providers, etc. + Coordinates the completion of New Hire Reviews and wage increases as needed. + Administers HR programs such as Safety Glasses Reimbursement, Personal Protective Equipment reimbursement and Gym Reimbursement. + Maintains confidentiality on employee-related issues while notifying only those in a need-to-know capacity. + Maintains open communication with all team members and departments to ensure rapid solutions to employee/employer relations questions or issues. + Perform all roles and responsibilities as defined by the BOS System Policies and Procedures. + Serves as back-up for entering scrap into the system. + Actively participate in the Health, Safety and Environmental program by following all policies, procedures and work instructions that may include safety rules, safety observation audits, regulatory compliance, environmental awareness and audits, continuous improvement, and investigations and the 8Dprocess in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required. + Report accidents, occupational illnesses and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public. + Comply with all BOS, IATF-16949, ISO-14001 and Customer Specific requirements. Education / Experience / Skills + Bachelor's Degree preferred, Associates Degree or combination of education and experience required... + 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience within a non-union manufacturing environment, automotive industry preferred. + 2+ years managing FMLA, LOA, etc. + Leadership abilities and ability to provide direction effectively are required. + Hands-on experience with Orientation, Production Supervisor training and other HR training required by the Division and/or Company. + Proficient at MS Office required; HRIS/Workday/Kronos experience preferred. + Intangibles + Willingness to take on tasks outside of customary responsibilities and displays a positive attitude. + Shows Initiative, candidate does not wait to be told, but anticipates and acts on what needs to be done. + Communication, exhibits verbal and written communication so superiors, peers and especially subordinates. Must be able to work well with others either as the leader of the group or in a subordinate capacity when working with members of management. + Good Decision Maker, when provided the necessary tools, is able to make sound manufacturing decisions. T/L is capable of knowing who to consult when they don't have the required info to make a decision based on available information. Accountabilities + This position reports directly to the Human Resources Manager. + This position is accountable to the Plant Manager. + Supervisory Responsibilities. This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
