As a member of the NVM controller firmware team, based inRoseville, CAand reporting to the Manager of Firmware Engineering, a successful applicant will be involved in the design and implementation of firmware for the latest generation of Flashtec NVMe Controllers at /product-directory/storage/3687-flashtec-nvme-controllers .Job Responsibilities:+ Participate as a member of the firmware team to design and implement firmware for the Flashtec NVMe Controllers at /product-directory/storage/3687-flashtec-nvme-controllers in C and assembly language + Troubleshoot and resolve complex software problems in embedded real-time systems + Generate comprehensive engineering documentationRequirements+ BS/MS degree in computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience required + 8+ years embedded system development experience + Strong C and C++ programming skills and product development experience + Strong background in software methodology and full-cycle development (design, implementation, testing, and debugging) + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Experience in computer storage industry, especially with NVMe/PCIe protocols and SSD algorithms is plus + Preferred Skills: + ARM Architecture + Familiarity with hardware & software co-verification/emulation platforms + Source Code Management (SVN, Perforce etc.) + Agile Scrum development methodology + JIRA project management software + Knowledge on one of more of these scripting languages: + PERL, Python + Familiarity with Linux environment (CLI, device drivers, shell scripting etc.) + Bus/Logic analyzers Equal Opportunity Employer Microchip is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer of Disabled / Veterans / Minorities / Women.
