$15-$20/hr depending on experience Cable Technician (ISP/OSP Voice/Data Communications Engineer, Journeyman). The Cable Technician shall be responsible for installation of various types of cable plant including twisted pair, coaxial, stranded cable, solid conductor low voltage cable, single and multi mode fiber optical cable. The Cable Technician shall be responsible for installing, terminating, testing, labeling and documenting horizontal, backbone & other cables (CAT6, CAT 5e, Fiber). The Cable Technician shall be capable of installing cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, EMT conduits, j-hooks, d-rings). Installation includes placement, termination, grounding and bonding, testing, labeling and documentation. Installation also includes dressing and routing of cable into telecommunications cabinets/closets, modular furniture and other work area outlets. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with BICSI standards and National Electrical Code as well as national and state environmental, health and safety policy.
