About the Position: The Foster Parent On-Call Support Staff is responsible for providing on-site child care services to children (ages 0 to 13) while foster parents attend training and support groups in our Harlem, Bronx or Brooklyn offices.The On-Call Support Staff will ensure that children are closely supervised at all times in a safe environment and they are engaged in developmental activities. Duties and Responsibilities (include but not limited) ·Monitor and supervise children’s activities to ensure safety at all times. ·Keep records on individual children, including parent signatures for sign in and out of service ·Engage children in age appropriate activities included but not limited to readingto simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, singing, educational project, etc. ·Organize and participate in recreational activities, such as games. ·Serve snacks and refreshments to children. ·Organize and store toys and materials to ensure order and tidiness in activity areas. ·Help children with homework and school work. ·Support children's social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts. ·Use positive developmental discipline techniques with children and recommend or initiate other measures to control behavior. ·Work with the Recruitment Development and Supportteam to best meet the needs of the families in regards to Child care ·Treat families and colleagues with respect and dignity and to adhere to Graham Windham Pillars. ·To be prompt in keeping appointments and adhering to agree upon schedules. ·To abide by the Agency’s Rules of Confidentiality. ·Record observation and Adhere to Graham Windham rules regarding safety procedures. Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required.Ability to function well in a team setting and work independently; Flexibility to work evenings, Saturdays and extended hours as necessary. Knowledge of foster care, ability to work with diverse population; excellent interpersonal. Child Care experience preferred. On Call position; salary commensurate with experience, in accordance with qualifications.
