JOB TITLE: Director, Content Operations & StrategyREPORTS TO: VP, Product Management, Student SuccessJOB SUMMARY:Barnes & Noble Education () is a leading provider of higher education and K-12 educational products and solutions with a mission to serve all who work to elevate their lives through education.Bartleby () is a direct-to-student, digital learning platform and suite of services. It currently includes Bartleby Learn, STEM-focused homework help via millions of step-by-step explanations to textbook problems, and 24/7 access to experts to assist with homework questions and answers. It also includes Bartleby Write, a virtual writing center to help with grammar, spelling, citation, and check for plagiarism.You will manage content development and deployment across various customer-facing platforms (e.g., web, mobile, video). To execute, you'll work with global teams (Project Management, Subject Matter Experts-SME). You will also play an integral role in building and managing the Bartleby Learn, remote tutor workforce to provide timely, best-in-class answers to questions across an expanding range of subject areas.Additional Information about the Role: Define and maintain KPIs (quality, speed, cost) associated with content delivery. Work cross-functionally with Product, Content Operations (US & India), and Content Strategy to support new products and services on the Bartleby platform. Build operational capabilities by onboarding and managing 3rd party resources to rapidly and efficiently deliver quality digital content at scale. Lead continuous improvement efforts across operations to increase quality and speed, and reduce cost.Background/Requirements: 5+ years experience in a business role such as Operations, Strategy, or Chief of Staff for a B2C (or DTC), digital business. 7+ years of overall professional experience. Experience defining and maintaining KPIs for a service business, including understanding business intelligence metrics and digital analytics. Prior experience engaging and managing 3rd party service providers. Experience with a Startup or a subscription business a plus. Metrics-driven mindset with basic experience using reporting tools Beneficial experience(s) include: Experience as a leader or part of a team responsible for launching a new business or product line. Operational experience creating a remote, freelance workforce to deliver a service (ridesharing). Experience in digital content development and content operations (offshore). BA/BS required. MBA a plus. Background in Management/Business Consulting a plus, but not required.
