Part-time employees can work in one or a variety of departments and are typically scheduled to work varying or set schedules on a weekly basis year round.Expectations: Assist with merchandising in the clothing and gift area, including stocking fixtures, rearranging and filling stock. Minor housekeeping (dusting, vacuuming) as needed to maintain the department. Count cash and handle daily accounting and record keeping requirements associated with the cash office. Receive incoming merchandise, including data entry into our merchandise inventory systems Utilize PeopleSoft Financials to track and invoice receivables from school departments, Veterans Administration and other entities to whom credit is extended. Greet customers, answer questions, and assist with the purchase of merchandise or services. Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments. Assist with managing store's social media presence. Availability to work through closing (5pm) and to work approximately one Saturday per month. Willingness to take on key holder responsibility and provide backup coverage for openings and/or closings. Part-time positions require availability to work on a weekly basis year round. Selected candidate will be required to join the bargaining unit representing the full time and part time employees at this location.Physical Demands: Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products. Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods. Frequent lifting. Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Ability to utilize a computer, including keyboard, mouse and monitorQualifications: Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age to be considered for employment. High-energy, friendly personality, with strong communication skills to interact with a variety of people. Outstanding customer service skills to match customers to products that meet their needs. Strong math, keyboarding, and data entry skills. Ability to grasp computer systems and learn new processes. Attention to detail.
