The Director Performance Excellence is an innovative, professional possessing a strong continuous improvement background and ability to build the team tasked with developing the Lean strategy to make Mercy Fort Smith a High Reliability Organization. This position will coach and mentor Executive leadership in our Hospital and Clinics on overall LEAN deployment, develop Lean training materials and programs and, train and mentor a continuous stream of Lean Transformation Specialists.This is a consultative position working collaboratively with Executive leadership, Quality leadership and the Lean Transformation Specialists (LTS) team. The Director Performance Excellence will help to identify, create, develop and integrate innovative solutions and programs regarding overall LEAN deployment. This is a high visibility position within the leadership of Mercy Fort Smith and will interact with leaders at all levels of the organization to drive Lean implementation and continued process improvement. The Director Performance Excellence will collaborate with the Quality Department leader in creating and actualizing the Mercy Fort Smith Lean Vision to include a detailed 5-year plan complete with measurable goals and deliverables.This position requires a candidate with the proven leadership skills as well as the ability to facilitate and guide the application of LEAN and grow Mercy Fort Smith as a High Reliability Organization. This leader must influence, motivate and set the example for others to meet the challenges in an ever-changing, highly customer-centric operational environment. This leader is also responsible for teaching and coaching Executives, Directors, Managers and the LTS team in LEAN principles, process thinking and the real-life application of Lean tools. Qualifications: Because you're committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That's why you'll bring to your role the right set of qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. Technical degree preferred (Math, Engineering, Computer Science) 7+ years' experience in project management and facilitation of process improvement initiatives across business operations 5+ years' experience instructing executives, managers, and associates on Lean methodologies 5+ years' experience directly and indirectly managing people to deliver continuous improvement Facilitation experience at all levels of an organization and to audiences of all sizes Experience successfully deploying healthcare industry lean, variation reduction, and six sigma methodologies LEAN/Six Sigma Black Belt Must pass Talent + leader evaluation Advanced MS Excel skills Preferred Qualifications Masters degree preferred LEAN/Six Sigma Master Black Belt 10+ years project management experience Experience communicating goals and strategies across multiple leadership levels within an organization Applied understanding of data measurement and analysis, statistical analysis tools Budget management experience and understanding of financial metrics We'll Support You at Work and Home Our foundations are built on dignity and respect.
