Portsmouth Regional is a 209-bed acute care hospital located in Portsmouth, NH, and is part of HCA, the nation's largest provider of healthcare services. The Progressive Care Neuro Trauma (PCNT) unit is a 13-bed unit dedicated to providing top quality nursing care to patients requiring an ICU step-down level of care. PCNT is a dedicated stroke and trauma focused unit with bedside monitoring in each room with the ability to monitor a-lines, frequent vital signs as well as end tidal CO2. We also see many titrating vasoactive IV drips, ventricular drains, subdural drains, epidurals, chest tubes, PCAs, PICCs as well as patients recovering from various high risk surgeries such as craniotomies, carotid stenting and endarterectomy as well as other orthopedic and trauma related surgeries. We are a fast paced, patient centered and team focused unit . We have plans to expand to 24 beds in 2018, which will allow us to provide top quality care to our ever growing and changing community. PCNT is looking for energetic, compassionate, patient and team focused RNs and LNAs to join our team. Position Summary : The CCT position has three essential components: LNA: The CCT provides direct, selected patient care under the direction of the Licensed Nurse within their scope of practice as defined by the NH Board of Nursing, recognized nursing techniques, clinical and administrative policies. The CCT also performs telemetry monitoring and non clinical duties under the direction of a Licensed Nurse. Virtual Sitter (VS): The CCT will provide constant, real-time video monitoring on a patient that has been identified as a high risk for a fall, confused, ambulatory patients at risk of wondering, eloping or falling based off of the Portsmouth Regional Hospital Virtual Sitter Selection Criteria via the Virtual Sitter System. Rhythm Technician (RT): The CCT will provide constant monitoring of heart rhythms and dysrhythmia interpretation as directed by the physicians or nurse via the telemetry room system. Essential Functions : CCT provides sensitivity and respect to the patient, family and/or significant other(s). CCT provides constant, real-time video monitoring and documents per Virtual Sitter policy. CCT's responsibility is to watch the patient and assure his/her safety. CCT provides constant monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation of heart rhythms and document per Telemetry Monitoring policy. CCT monitors, records and communicates patient condition as needed. CCT orients and mentors new staff members. CCT complies with infection control precaution standards. CCT complies with safety and security policies of the hospital. CCT collects and reports data as directed by the licensed nurse. CCT provides ADL needs of the patient: hygiene, care and comfort measures, mobility and ambulation, nutritional needs and feeding. CCT transports patients to various departments/services throughout the hospital. CCT provides patient monitoring as directed to ensure patient safety. CCT transcription of medical orders. CCT assists with scheduling of procedures/testing CCT obtains/maintains supplies and equipment CCT performs general clerical duties including use of computer systems CCT provides customer service functions. CCT telephone triage CCT responds to and directs patient needs to the appropriate staff Qualifications: Experience : Less than 1 year of experience required.
