A community health center in New York City is currently seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their growing team in Manhattan.About the Opportunity:Start Date: ASAPAssignment Length: Ongoing (Contract to Hire)Schedule: Monday to Friday (1 Saturday per month)Hours: 8am to 6pm (Mon & Wed); 8am to 5pm (Tues, Thurs, Fri); 8am to 4pm (Sat)EMR: eClinicalWorks (ECW)Patient Population: All ages - Medically Underserved PopulationSupervising: 20-30 people - Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Medical Assistants, Phlebotomist, Institutional Aide (Clinical Operations)Responsibilities:The Nurse Manager (RN) will:In conjunction with the DON and HR Manager, recruit, hire, monitor competency, and supervise Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Medical Assistants, Phlebotomist and Institutional Aide (Clinical Operations). Coordinate schedules and authorize vacation, continuing medical education and other leaves of absence for these staffOversee quality assurance activities regarding nursing and other clinical servicesMonitor utilization of nursing services and staffing productivityProvide clinical nursing services. Triage, monitor, record, and report symptoms and changes in patients' conditionAdminister drugs, immunizations, medical devices or other forms of treatment, such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy or related therapeutic procedures as neededCoordinate initial orientation and continuing education through in service presentations and education as directed by DONProvide periodic evaluation of nursing staff performance and competency in accordance with personnel manualPrepare requisitions for supplies, materials, equipment and other items necessary for the effective functioning of the medical unitsServe as a role model for all clinical nursing staffEnsure staff is aware of and adhere to the Health Center's policies and proceduresMonitor patient flow, including walk-in screening procedures, shifting of staff as needed, and evaluating and maintaining efficient and effective patient accessAssist the DON in the creation of workflow and policies and proceduresParticipate in internal meetingsMaintain all licensure requirements. Adhere to the Center's clinical protocols and other standards of professional conduct.Performs other functions as directed by DON necessary for the proper care of patients and functioning of the CenterQualifications:Current NYS Registered Nurse LicenseBachelor's of Science in Nursing2+ years of Nursing experience1+ year of Charge Nurse experienceBLS CertificationInfection Control CertificationExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of general nursing theory, practice, methods, and techniques involved in the performance of general nursing servicesAmbulatory Care, FQHC, Community Health outpatient experience requiredDesired Skills:Bilingual (English and Spanish)Experience working with indigent or medically underserved populations.
