Our client was founded in 2018 to provide in-house engineering services to several affiliated national builder/developers for residential, commercial retail, office, and multi-family developments in various markets across the country.This is an exciting "ground-floor" opportunity to join the company as they hit the accelerator on their growth and expansion. After successfully opening 5 markets in 5 years, Arizona is their 6th and newest division (opened in early 2024).Company Highlights: Not a Massive Corporation: As an affiliate of a Top 3 National Homebuilder, our client has the longevity of a Fortune 500 company to back their business while preserving the heart and soul of a small business.Consistent Work Pipeline: Due to intimate affiliation with multiple large developer divisions, design work will be prioritized for this team over external consultants.Exposure & Experience: Extra learning opportunities to experience the full cycle development process, from land acquisition and feasibility engineering through completion of site projects."Established" Start-Up:: Successfully opening 5 new markets since 2018, AZ is this firm's 6th and newest market.What you'll do as the Senior Civil Designer: Function as the lead designer on a variety of engineering design projects related to residential and site infrastructure development. Conduct and coordinate assigned engineering work with other project teams, monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and standards, and ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects.Responsibilities of the Senior Civil Designer: Develop, modify and review models, plans, details and drawings of engineering systems and design components according to established standardsDemonstrate a comprehensive understanding of residential and site projects of advanced complexity in relation to overall site drainage, grading, and infrastructure constraintsImplement specific project design criteria and coordinate with project design teams consisting of Engineers, CAD Designers and Technicians, and Sub-consultants (if necessary) to successfully complete a projectResponsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating the design and technical aspects of projectsCoordinate and assist the Project Manager(s) with overall project schedules and budget constraints for assigned projects through completionResponsible for Quality Control review of design elements and overall project deliverables prior to releaseIdentify, interpret and resolve technical project issues with minimal oversightWhat you'll need to be a Senior Civil Designer: 2-year higher education degree required (CAD certification highly preferred)10 years' experience related to specific CAD and Civil 3D software required, with at least 5 years' experience in detailed land development designing of residential projects (GIS experience is a plus)Ability to train and mentor CAD Drafters/Technicians and Engineering InternsAbility to coordinate and lead multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously Ability to work independently and as a part of a multidisciplinary team with input and support from leadership
