Fill-Rite Company provides rugged, high performance liquid transfer pumps as well as a comprehensive line of mechanical and digital meters, precision weights and measures certified meters, hand pumps, hoses, nozzles and accessories for the agriculture, construction and recreations markets. We are growing and are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team, either in Fort Wayne, IN or Lenexa, KS.If you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information.In this new role, the Electrical Engineer will lead the design and development of control systems for the Fill-Rite pump and meter product lines. This position will perform conceptual design of analog and digital circuitry along with software development utilizing both internal and outside design and development resources.Essential Functions and Basic DutiesSupport the electrical systems design for both new products and legacy products as needed.Analog and digital circuit concept design of printed circuit boards including schematic layout and prototyping for motor control and fluid dispensing and metering.Design and test fractional horse power AC and DC motors and related controls.Create specifications for related control components, ie: switches, cables, sensors, thermal protection.Integrate advanced technologies into products including both short range communications protocols and cloud based applications.Utilize design tools such as DFMEA to reduce risks and increase probability of success.Follow established engineering procedures such as ECR/ECN and other product design standards.Partner with external resources as needed for both hardware and software development and support.Develop test methods and procedures for testing electronics and electrical components to ensure they meet requirements.Ensure all product designs adhere to regulatory and agency standards as relevant to the product and market of product (i.e.: UL Standards).Track project costs against established targets.Utilize internal quality metrics, customer feedback, and warranty data to guide improvements on existing and new products.Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities that improve both current and new products.Be a technical resource for all departments to ensure products maintain the brand image.Model the importance of safety within a manufacturing facility.Demonstrate excellence in completion of all other duties as assigned.Education/CertificationBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, Master's Degree preferred.Experience Required5+ years of relevant engineering experience.Basic understanding of analog and digital circuits.Familiarity with electronics circuit board manufacturing.Basic skills in 2D/3D ECAD for PCB layout and schematic design.Knowledge of electrical design simulation tools such as Spice, Ansys Maxwell or RMxprtFamiliar with software development in C/C++ or other structured programming languages.Required KnowledgeFamiliar with new product development stage gate process.Ability to learn and utilize engineering standards (design, testing, etc.,)Ability to learn new and improve existing engineering processes.Understanding of the impact engineering decisions have on every aspect of the organization.Physical Activities and Requirements of this PositionHands-on person who likes to be involved in the development and testing of products.Able to lift 35 lbs. and able to use hand tools for product assembly / disassembly.Working Conditionswork environment includes an open office concept, manufacturing floor, and laboratory containing petroleum products.environment within your team and other functional departments.less than 25% per year.To learn more about our company, visit us at .Candidates must possess permanent authorization to work in the United States.Interested?
