Role Title: Application Engineer - ADABAS / COBOL (No Sponsorship and Corp to Corp)Employment Type: Contract-to-HireDuration: 6-month Contract to HirePreferred Location: 5 days / week on site - East Chicago, IN 46312Role Description:A large client in the steel manufacturing industry is looking for a Senior Applications Engineer to provide support for the organization's manufacturing ADABAS and Mainframe COBOL/DB2 applications and various subsystems including Production Recording, Mechanical Test Management, Unit Scheduling, Roll Management Software and Electronic Data Interchange application files. Key responsibilities of this role include problem investigation, analysis, design, testing, problem solving, programming and malfunction support. This person will need to gather requirements, create functional & technical specifications, program, test, implement, and maintain applications. This individual will need to be proficient in the technologies listed in the "must haves" section" to complete the programming work as efficiently and cost effectively as possible.Learn more about the general tasks related to this opportunity below, as well as required skills.Requirements:Must Haves:5+ years' ADABAS/Natural for Windows Experience5+ years' experience in COBOL, DB2, and CICS, and JCL/JES3Prior experience with custom development and SDLC processesWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, MS Access, Visio)Experience with incident tracking in change management softwarePlusses:Experience in .NET DevelopmentExperience in the manufacturing industry
