Candidates should take the time to read all the elements of this job advert carefully Please make your application promptly.The Lead Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) will closely support the ES Projects business from bid proposal,execution, to commissioning. This position will lean upon their experience interpreting specifications/requirements into documentation to be executed by our external provides. The Lead SQE will work closely with the Global Supplier Quality team and internal partners to delivery expected results for our clients. We need someone with experience with the management of documentation, supplier relationships and results, as well as issue management. This role will lean heavily upon independent workhabits and time management to deliver on multiple project simultaneously. This is a fast-paced and rewarding opportunity, to join a team that is working to save the world, one glass of water at a time.Key Characteristics:Ability to be self-lead and motivated is critical to success in this roleExperience with delivering and managing technical projects in the Oil and Gas, Commercial construction, or other similar high specification industriesAbility to manage multiple stakeholder, issues/ high specification projects, and priorities at once while driving swift resolution of issuesDuties & Responsibilities:Manage the quality of externally supplied materials in support of customer projects and products. This includes the disposition of supplier non-conformances and issuance/management of Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR)Collaborate with internal engineering and external suppliers to determine feasibility of designs for manufacturability at external vendorsPerform root cause analysis, involving engineering and other key departments, for supplier non-conformance issuesAudit current suppliers to evaluate risk by monitoring changes in management, key personnel, and process changesSupport the development of new and existing suppliers by improving their quality management systems to improve overall part and documentation qualityDetermine quality requirements for highly technical projects drawing from customer, internal, and industry specifications.Mitigate quality and project risks through the addition of inspections and other methods to ensure compliance to all project requirements.Hard Skills:Proven experience in reading and deciphering engineering drawings and other related industrial specificationsPractical experience with special processes (welding, casting, molding, etc...)Ability to work with suppliers to manage relationships, supplier performance, and product conformanceAbility to drive technical discussions with internal and external teams and suppliers in each of the manufacturing/installation sites as defined per projectSoft Skills:Expert: Demonstrate subject matter expertise in the field.Strategic: Gets the big game. Taking responsibility for making tough calls when necessary.Ambitious: Identifies underlying truths and comes up with ideas that change the way we conceptualize issues, depicts vision of future that rallies teams to compete in new ways.Education & ExperienceRequired:Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering or other technical engineering degree and 5 years of supplier quality or inspection related work experienceWork experience with steel fabrication, pressure vessels, plastic injection molding, oil and gas or water treatment systems, and/or electromechanical assembly processesWork experience with QRQC, Lean Six Sigma, DOE, Deming Cycle, FMEA, 8D, APQP, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, etc.Preferred:Previous project management experience from ITO (Inquiry to Order) to OTR (Order to Remittance)Technical inspection experience or certification in welding, NDT, and other disciplinesWorking knowledge of NSF, AWS B31.1 and B31.3 welding codes and Canadian equivalentsBusiness and Technical English Language KnowledgeQualified ISO9001 auditor or equivalentWorking Conditions:Up to 20% domestic and international travel as requiredVisits to supplier and customer sites that may be located outdoors or in other exposed environmentsOffice/Remote opportunities availableAt WTS, we realize diverse teams make smarter decisions, deliver better results, and build stronger communities.
