Job Description:

This pivotal role drives the continuous growth of Client's core audio business by spearheading various initiatives. Collaborating closely with the New Product Development team, the incumbent translates design concepts into meticulously detailed mechanical drawings, working in tandem with mechanical engineers. Additionally, they ensure seamless coordination with the Industrial Design team, guaranteeing that designs are both feasible for manufacturing and maintain optimal performance standards. The role involves facilitating ongoing enhancements in loudspeaker engineering, encompassing strategic planning, process optimization, robust reporting mechanisms, and meticulous management of timelines to bolster the quality-driven growth trajectory of the company.Be one of the first applicants, read the complete overview of the role below, then send your application for consideration.Key Responsibilities:Detailed design of transducers for both aftermarket and OEM automotive markets.Conducting detailed loudspeaker and acoustic system simulations using cutting-edge acoustic software.Designing and implementing acoustic reliability tests encompassing thermal, mechanical, and acoustic aspects.Analyzing loudspeakers, enclosures, and related components to identify failure modes and propose enhancements.Reviewing acoustic test reports to provide technical insights for enhancing speaker performance and reliability.Engaging in internal and competitive product listening evaluations to ensure optimal performance.Collaborating with domestic and international suppliers to convey design specifications and resolve issues during loudspeaker product builds.Developing and constructing crossovers to optimize speaker performance.Offering acoustic technical guidance to mechanical, amplifier, embedded, and internal vehicle install teams for cross-departmental projects.Engaging with customers and OEM partners to understand their requirements and establish loudspeaker design objectives.Creating comprehensive technical design input presentations to communicate acoustic design strategies to suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders across departments like New Product Development, Marketing, and Sales.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in relevant fields (BSEE, BSME, BS in Acoustics, Physics, etc.)Profound understanding of acoustic fundamentals and proven experience in transducer and loudspeaker system design.Familiarity with speaker materials, manufacturing processes, and audio system architecture.Proficiency in acoustic test equipment and simulation tools (e.g., Klippel, Audio Precision, Klippel SIM2, Loudsoft Suite, FEMM).Excellent team player with exceptional communication skills, a proactive approach, and adept at managing multiple projects within a dynamic environment.Desired Qualifications:1-3 years of experience in acoustic design.Strong grasp of physics fundamentals.Electrical design skills with familiarity in Altium.Basic knowledge of amplifier design and Digital Signal Processing (DSP).Familiarity with Solidworks for 3D modeling.Proficiency in software scripting/automation (Python, LabVIEW, Excel macros).Experience in speaker enclosure design and fabrication.Passion for the automotive audio market and exposure to high-volume consumer electronics or automotive OEM.Possession of an active motorcycle license is considered advantageous.Benefit Details:Opportunity for growth into a leadership role within the acoustic team.Competitive first-year salary commensurate with experience.Full-time position based at our Tempe, AZ office.Comprehensive benefits package including PTO, 401k, Health, Dental, Life insurance, and more.
