Job Description:

A dynamic leader in the chemicals industry is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Process Controls Engineer to join their growing manufacturing organisation.Do not wait to apply after reading this description a high application volume is expected for this opportunity.This position is a key hire as the company strives for continuous improvement to their production function, and will have a huge impact on short- and long-term outcomes for a key manufacturing facility. In this role you will provide daily support to plant control challenges, drive continuous improvement initiatives and lead a team of 5-6 Instrumentation Technicians. You must design and maintain various control systems including MCCs, PLC programming and VFDs, and act as a focal point for the monitoring of flow meters, continuous/discrete level transmitters, and pressure/ temperature transducers.Your role will see you maintaining and refining multiple process controls systems, working with 480v MCC (VFDs), and taking ownership of mid-sized controls projects including hitting schedule and budget targets. The small team of Instrument Technicians under your supervision, will require you to evaluate their job roles, assign tasks, and measure performance. You must engage with and contribute to site-wide HSE, productivity and quality initiatives, and mentor/motivate Technicians to develop their skills, especially in relation to HSE.This position requires a motivated and autonomous individual with a BS (or higher) degree in a related Engineering major, who is comfortable not only identifying and correcting control issues, but speaking out to help improve the overall plant's continuous improvement efforts.
