Job Description:

Title: Design Engineer (Sprinkler)Salary: $100,000-$130,000Fire ProtectionNICETReady to apply Before you do, make sure to read all the details pertaining to this job in the description below.Job Description:Review construction contract documents and collaborate with general contractors/owners to acquire necessary information for designing the project's sprinkler system.Utilize AutoCAD/HydraCAD programs to design the layout of fire sprinkler and standpipe systems.Conduct field surveys to identify code issues and propose solutions.Participate in coordination and job progress meetings.Generate fabrication/stock listings for system components and procure materials throughout the project.Prepare material equipment submittals and perform hydraulic calculations.Coordinate with other departments within the office to ensure proper handoff of job information.Submit documentation to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), owners, architects, engineers, and insurance companies.Carry out closeout procedures and prepare operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals as necessary.Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers to ensure FVFS meets their expectations.Demonstrate attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.Exhibit self-motivation and prioritize tasks to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.Identify changes in project scope that affect cost, schedule, and labor.Prepare and submit change orders in a timely manner.Monitor project progress and financial metrics to ensure compliance with schedule and budget guidelines.Maintain communication and cooperation with Fire and Safety staff.Adhere to safety rules and maintain good driving habits.Follow Fire and Safety policies and procedures.Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.Knowledge, Education, Licensing, and Experience Requirements:3-5 years of experience in the fire protection field with a demonstrated understanding of building codes.Proficiency with AutoCAD/HydraCAD; familiarity with Navis Simulate and/or BIM coordination is advantageous.NICET Certification III in Water-Based Systems Layout is mandatory.Bachelor's degree in Engineering is strongly preferred.Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test, background check, and reference check.Skill and Ability Requirements:Customer-oriented interpersonal skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional organizational skills.Self-motivation and initiative.Effective time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and preparing engineered drawings, specifications, and schematics.Technical, electronic, and mechanical knowledge and abilities.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a focus on customer satisfaction, departmental growth, and personal/professional development.Occasional overtime may be required.Physical Requirements:Capable of carrying, lifting, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 25-50 pounds.Able to safely climb ladders and reach heights of at least 12 feet.Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and engaging in repetitive motions.Occasional lifting, carrying, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and grasping.Required Experience:3-5 years of experience in Fire Protection Design.Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled To read our Candidate Privacy Information Statement, which explains how we will use your information, please navigate to
