Job Description:

Position Summary:We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our private company's finance team in Nashville. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the month-end close process, handling audits, and overseeing accruals. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and supporting the overall financial health of the company.Key Responsibilities:Month-End Close:Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.Perform detailed account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.Ensure all month-end financial reporting deadlines are met.Audit Support:Coordinate and manage external audit processes, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.Maintain comprehensive documentation to support financial statements and ensure compliance with audit requirements.Implement and monitor internal controls to address audit findings and recommendations.Review and analyze all accrual accounts to ensure they are accurate and complete.Collaborate with various departments to gather information for proper accruals.Monitor and adjust accruals as needed to reflect accurate financial reporting.Financial Reporting:Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.Provide variance analysis and explanations for significant fluctuations in financial statements.Develop and enforce internal control procedures to enhance financial integrity and compliance.Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and strategic initiatives.Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data.Mentorship and Training:Mentor and support junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.Provide training on accounting procedures and software as needed.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA certification preferred.Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role.Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax regulations.Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for munication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly.
