Job DescriptionAs an Injection Molding Process Engineer, you are responsible for the process development and qualification of our mold assets following organizational SOP and procedures.Execution of initial functional testing of injection moldsDevelopment of injection molding processes with help of scientific techniquesPreparation, execution and analysis of experimental designs (DoE)Accurate documentation of the complete processing phaseExecution of final qualification runs in production environment (clean room)Participation in mold testing at external vendorsEstablish process conditions through decoupled molding for new products.Troubleshoot molding processes and material or equipment issues.Evaluate tooling for areas of concern, areas of improvement for quality and efficiency, and recommend improvements to optimize molding, setup, and overall manufacturing.Collect and analyze data on individual processes to identify and improve process capability.Document and maintain mold process sheets for accuracy.Support process technicians through training in scientific molding practices.Leadership role in continuous improvement and cost reduction activities.Use Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other techniques to analyze process data to determine capabilities as well as improvements.Program robots and peripheral stall and removal of molds (incl. water connections) Additional items as needed to ensure smooth operation of the plant.QualificationsHigh School College Diploma or equivalent5+ years of hands-on experience in injection molding.A working knowledge and experience with injection molding and ancillary equipmentA working knowledge of a wide range of thermoplastic materials and their propertiesExcellent problem-solving skills with attention to detailExperience working with different kind of resinsDeep understanding of injection molding process and technologyExperience with scientific molding approachExperience in problem solving and trouble shooting of processesMaster Molder I II qualificationExperience working in a hands-on environment with constant interaction with mold technicians, quality engineers and metrologistsMS Office experienceExperience with statistical software MiniTab preferable
