Job Description:

We are hiring 3 Medical Collectors with a reputable healthcare system in the Inland Empire! This position offers weekly pay and EARLY OUT FRIDAYS!!!The Collector performs AR collections and billing involving multiple insurance contracts & entities. Analyzes and audits accounts for correct balance, proper follow-up and complete reimbursement. Monitors collection issues and resolves with payor. Processes phone, online and paper inquiries and correspondence taking appropriate collection actions that may include: working rejectionsdenials, calling for status, tracer claims and rebilling. Identifies misapplied payments and requests payments, adjustmentstransfers or refunds. Performs other duties as needed.Essential Duties Analyzes and audits accounts for correct balance, proper follow-up and complete reimbursement. Processes all payor rejectionsdenials and follows up to resolve accounts in accordance with department standards.Reviews and works with outside agencydepartment lists, EOBs, CSM requests, to verify patient services are coded correctly and payment has been applied properly.Identifies misapplied payments, requesting payment adjustmentstransfers or refunds.Reviewscorrects registrationinsurance data utilizing all available sources to obtain correct information. Requests Insurance authorizations, including Service Authorizations (SARs) for CCS and Treatment authorizations (TARs) for Medi-Cal when necessary for account resolution.Processes all approved charge corrections timely, verifying proper adjudication for payor eligibility, following all MedicareMedi-CalCCS and other payor guidelines.Processes correspondence for accounts and takes appropriate billing action.Receives and resolves phone issuesquestions. Pulls appropriate documentation; takes proper action and documents through pletes correspondencetickler logs weekly maintaining department standards for work in progress.
