Today, we're driving the energy transition with more than 30,000 of the brightest minds across 54 countries.Job Overview:Here, what you do matters.Serve as a Design Lead or perform electrical designdrafting for oil and gas, and petrochemical projects. Design and prepare project deliverables for power generation systems, substations, power distribution systems, lighting & grounding systems, and other engineering systems as required by each project. Provide support for engineering and construction as required.Responsibilities for Internal CandidatesKey Tasks and Responsibilities: Prepare key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following:Block DiagramsArea Classification DrawingsOne-line diagramsMotor control schematicsLighting Layout DrawingsCable tray drawingsCable sizing calculationsConduit & cable schedulesAGUG power drawingsPrepare bills of material and perform MTO of electrical items (cables, lights, tray, glands)Support Project Development and Coordination, including (but not limited to) the following:Maintain and promote a focus on McDermott's end-product throughout engineering, fabrication or construction.Report to and coordinate with electrical engineering project lead and electrical task lead, as applicable.Effectively communicate with electrical design lead and project electrical designers and engineers.Recognize and manage change with full awareness of project impact, keeping lead designer informed.Assume responsibility for deliverablesactivities to which are assigned.Mentor and support the activities of less experienced designers.Provide Site Support, including (but not limited to) the following:Provide off-site andor on-site designdrafting support for construction.Coordinate with home office staff to resolve issues as required.Maintain drawing as-builts, redlines, and support RFI efforts as required.Qualifications for Internal CandidatesEssential Qualifications and Education: Must HAVE Master Electrician LicenseMinimum 10 years of detailed electrical design experienceTechnical knowledge of the electrical detailed designdrafting process.Experience using MS Office Suite including Excel and Word.US Citizen or Green Card holder.Experience working with modeling and Smartplant software (PDS or S3D, SPEL) and Field Installations.Experience with domestic andor international electrical codes and standards.Work history weighted towards chemicals gas processing refinery.Knowledge of trayconduit fill calcs. Understanding of NECNFPA.Experience using AutoCad. Preferred Qualifications and Education:Prefer prior experience as a Lead Principal Designer on at least one (1) mid to large size project ($500 Million +).Prefer experience with multiple office project execution (MOPEX).Prefer experience at site during the construction and commissioning phases.Prefer experience with Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL).Prefer experience with Aveva E3D modeling software in addition to S3D.Prefer Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degree.
