UACL Director of Safety UACL Logistics, LLC a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings Inc. is in search of candidates to fill a Director of Safety opening within their corporate office located in Warren, MI. UACL Logistics, LLC provides Flatbed, Van, Over Dimensional, Oilfield, Reefer and Logistics Services throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico. As one of the strongest truckload carriers in the nation Universal Truckload has the ability to provide transportation services for our customers, agents and owner operators. Our stability and experience within the industry has been proven with our continued growth, year after year.The Director of Safety will have responsibility for: Maintaining and evolving the company safety program Ensure overall Safety activities are in compliance with industry and governmental standards Manage a department of Safety Professionals and Driver Recruiters Develop and effectively present new Safety programs and policies Work with all departments to ensure Safety policies and practices are integrated into the companies operating procedures in an efficient manner Keep the company abreast of new Safety trends andor Safety law changes Serve as an Advisory and Representative for the CEO and Vice President in regards to Safety concerns Qualifications:Intermediate to expert knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and NFPA Extensive leadership experience in Safety Four year degree preferred plus 5+ years of Safety management experience Must possess effective communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills Have the wherewithal, confidence, and social aptitude to carry out executive level responsibilities Must be detail orientated Must be able to think and react quickly in adverse situations Computer literate, with the ability to grasp new programs and suggest new applications The Director of Safety position offers excellent compensation and benefits.
