We are seeking a talented Structural Designer to help drive value for our clients. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with our experienced Project Managers and Principal Engineer, delivering top-quality structural design and analysis for a diverse range of building projects.As a Structural Designer, you will work closely with our Project Managers & Principal to develop design drawings, condition assessment reports, feasibility studies, and perform construction administration services for a wide variety of building and non-building structures.Everyday responsibilities will include:Analyze, design, and prepare construction documents for building and non-building structures.Prepare complete construction drawings with plans, sections, and details.Perform and prepare structural calculations and Finite Element Modeling.Perform construction administration services (Shop Drawings, RFIs, and field visits).Manage the design and construction administration of projects from start to finish with the help of supervising PMsPrincipal.Prepare engineering reports.Research code issues (building and structural).This position is an excellent opportunity for candidates seeking professional growth.Please note: This is primarily a remote-work position, with occasional on-site visits required. Candidates must have a reliable internet connection and a dedicated work area to ensure productivity and efficiency while working remotely.Note: O&A does not accept inquiries from third-party recruiting agencies andor individuals.Requirements:The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of previous experience in building structural design and documentation.Bachelor's degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering.E.I.T. preferred with plans for PE SE licensure.Ability to work in a group environment for larger projects.Demonstrate a proactive approach to professional development and in-depth research capabilities.Possess the communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective project management and relationship building (internal & external teams).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is required.Familiarity with FEM, RAM Structural Systems, RAM Elements, RAM Concept, etc.Working knowledge of building codes: IBC & ASCE 7.Working knowledge of AISC, ACI, and the NDS.Technical skills must be at the level in which candidates can execute assignments independently, under the supervision of a senior engineer, PM, or Principal.Display a positive attitude.About O&A:Orndorf & Associates, Inc. is a full-service structural engineering and design firm located in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with branch offices in Greenville and Rehoboth, DE.
