Position SummaryAffinia Therapeutics is seeking an In Vivo Research Associate to join our Preclinical Research team. You will be part of a team focused on performing preclinical-stage studies that are essential in supporting our next-generation gene therapy research.Reporting to the Director of In Vivo Studies, you will play a critical role in supporting multiple basic and complex in-life experiments. Working both independently and collaboratively across teams to execute the studies will be an important aspect of the position. This position is located at our state-of-the-art facility, in Waltham, MA Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist with in-vivo procedure setup and documentation preparationCollect biological samples (blood, tissue) and perform gross assessments at necropsyAdminister test articles via multiple routes of administration (IV, RO, IP, SC) and monitor their effectsProvide pre and post-operative care in rodents to ensure proper analgesia and pain managementWorking alongside contract technicians, ensure flawless animal care and welfare is conducted throughout the research studiesMaintain detailed records of experimental procedures and resultsGenerate and report data obtained from all in-vivo proceduresReview and adhere to all company standards, IACUC-approved SOPs and required safety proceduresMay be required to perform other related duties as required andor assignedMinimum QualificationsMust be able to work in a laboratory setting with direct exposure tohandling of laboratory animalsA minimum of 2 years of experience in animal research and husbandry, specifically working with mouse modelsProficient in multiple routes of administrations (IV-tail vein, SC, IP, RO)Highly detailed and excellent record keeping, adhering to GLP-like standardsAbility to work independently on repetitive tasks quickly and efficientlyExcellent written and oral communications skillsMust be flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree (B.S.B.Sc.) in animal or life sciences related scientific areaAALAS CertificationExperience with cloud-based Benchling platform and Excel for maintaining records and data analysisPrevious experience working with multiple disease models and understanding of animal model characterizationEEO Statement: Affinia Therapeutics is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
